We didn’t mean to start a sausage brand. Honestly.
We just got a bit obsessed with flavour. Then obsessed with what shouldn’t be in a sausage (mystery bits… stuff you can’t pronounce). Then with what could be: proper lamb with cumin, sichuan green peppercorn, kimchi, lemongrass, kelp umami and seafood for an extra protein boost. You know, the good stuff!
So we made sausages. Then we made better ones.
Then we fed them to our kids, our friends… some friend’s friend. And they kept asking where to buy them.
That’s how S for Sausage began. No grand plans. Just a love of real food, big flavours and weirdly specific sausage standards. We’re not your butcher’s sausage (no offence, we love butchers).
We’re a bit cleaner. A bit bolder. Definitely funnier.

We use only real ingredients – no additives, preservatives, fillers, or anything unnecessary. Ingredients like organic chia seed and wild-harvested wakame from Otago are used thoughtfully to build flavour and natural umami depth, while our sausages are packed in certified home compostable pouches because regular plastic just doesn’t feel right.
By bringing together quality NZ meats and globally-inspired flavours, we make sausages that feel cleaner, more exciting, and definitely not boring.
